A WEEK IN POLAND

From the 18th. to the 23rd. of May, eleven 3rd.  E.S.O. students travelled to Poland thanks to the Comenius Project started last year.

They were in a village called Lazy and they stayed in host famílies. They had to speak English all the time amb enjoyed practising it.

The students said that their “Polish fanilies” treated them as kings and queens.
During the week they visited the most interesting places of that region.
Theu travelled to Cracow, the previous capital of Poland. It is wonderful!  Their guide said that  Cracow is possibly the most beautiful city in Poland.

The following day they were received by the Mayor and the Education Director of Lazy.

They visited the Medieval Castle in Podzameze built on enormous rocks  and enjoyed the tour of the “Castle at Night” with the ghosts appearing amd disappearing everywhere.

They had dinner in front of the castle amd tasted a traditional Polish barbecue.

They  also visited the “Bread House” in Radzonków  and learned interesting stories about old cars in teh  “Old Car Club”, and in the “Silver Mine” in Tarnowskie Góry, where they walked and went canoeing in a river under the ground. The water was very cold!

Now they can be proud of themselves because they are really good English speakers.
All of them felt that a week there was extremly short and they would have stayed there for months.  Polish and Catalan students promised to keep in contact by facebook.
This has been an incredible experience for them and they came back home with hundreds of things to explain to their famílies and friends.

Meeting in Italy

                                   º

From 16 th to 21st JuneFrom 16th to 21st June, a group of 2 teachers and 8 students from our school went to AullaToscana, following the programme of our Comenius Project. Once in Italy, we met our Polish and Turkish partners and together with the Italian group, we made some interesting trips.

Carrara
We had the official visit to the Mayor of Aulla who welcomed us warmly The first trip was visiting the Carrara Quarry. The marble there  was brilliant under the sun and we had the chance to visit the spot in a 4/4 . We were told that many emblematic buildings in Italy are made of this expensive material.

We in Pisa

Another interesting  place we visited was Pisa. The tower was amazing!  It seemed impossible that it still stood up!

We in Florencia
Florence was great! History and art were shown at every step. Ponte Vechio was so cute!

However, the best views were in Golfo de l´Spezzia where we took a "ferry" from where we could admire the wonderful landscape.

Fortunately, the food was not a problem as everybody likes pasta and there, we had it every day.

Of course, we learnt about  Italian culture but we practiced and improved our English too as this was the only means of comunication.

All in all, a great experience which strengthens our wish to see our partners again, next time in Igualada. We are already preparing all the activities which will be carried out in our country and looking forward to it.

Trip to Turkey

                        TRIP TO TURKEY

Recently, at the beginning of April, we met in Besni (Adiyaman), Turkey. All of us worked together and commented the different contributions to the project and  did our presentations. We talked about our school, our town and our country and all the partners let the others know about  their traditions and culture.

Typical Turkish dance
They received us warmly with songs and typical Turkish dances. We were also received by the important people in the town. The City Governor, the City Mayor and the Director of Education. All of them were very interested in our culture, our country and Catalonia.

Teachers of Monalco (R.Vila and N.Bou)
with the Mayor of Besni
As our oproject is about organic food, we had a breakfast with all kind of organic products served in one of the Turkish student’s garden. People were  extremely warm and treated us wonderfully.

We visited the school. Their classes were similar to ours and there were decorations all over the place devoted to Comenius project. We decided which would be the Project logo among all those our students had made.
